
Wendy Cutchie is a health leader with over 30 years of national and international experience that spans clinical care, management, policy and government advisory work. A registered nurse and midwife, she is recognised for her expertise in maternity and newborn safety, and experience with evidence-based guideline development.
She led Safer Care Victoria’s Maternity and Neonatal Clinical Network from 2018, guiding statewide policy and quality initiatives, while overseeing project teams and clinical committees.
Her international experience across New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Australia includes roles as a diabetes midwife in within a continuity-of-carer model, Specialist Advisor in Maternity for the UK Care Quality Commission, and matron managing multi‑site, midwifery‑led services. She has also contributed to major national guideline development, including the NHMRC Pregnancy Care Guidelines.
Wendy holds a Master of Health Sciences (Health Management) and has presented at forums nationally and internationally.
Wendy has joined the Stillbirth CRE as Clinical Project Lead to provide clinical oversight to the development of the Safer Baby Bundle Version 2.0.
