Fetal Growth Restriction (FGR)

Fetal Growth Restriction may be a warning sign for stillbirth and other adverse pregnancy and developmental outcomes

FGR is linked with stillbirth, neonatal death, and other adverse pregnancy and developmental outcomes. Detection of growth restricted babies during pregnancy is key to a healthy pregnancy.

Babies who are growth restricted during pregnancy sometimes go undetected. As growth restriction may be a warning sign for stillbirth and other adverse pregnancy and developmental outcomes, educating clinicians about detecting fetal growth restriction (FGR) is a critical component of stillbirth prevention.

In partnership with Safer Care Victoria and PSANZ-SANDA, The Stillbirth CRE runs ongoing workshops to meet this need.

The Stillbirth CRE have also developed an e-learning activity that is now available for for clinicians.
