Babies’ movements during pregnancy are a key indicator of his or her health. A decrease or weakening of movements (often collectively called ‘Decreased fetal movements’ or ‘DFM’) is a sign that the baby may be unwell.

Women who experience DFM are urged to contact their health care provider if they are concerned about their baby’s movements to arrange a time to be assessed as soon as possible.
